We are delighted to announce the ten innovative companies that will make up The Clean Fight’s latest Deployment Accelerator, focused on energy storage projects in New York State. Now more than ever, we need to ensure that momentum continues toward a more resilient, electrified future. Speeding the adoption of energy storage is key to realizing that future — to ensuring all New Yorkers have access to reliable, abundant, secure, and affordable clean energy.
In collaboration with the New York Battery and Energy Storage Technology Consortium (NY-BEST) and New Energy New York (NENY), we’ve selected companies that offer best-in-class hardware and software solutions positioned to cut through the uncertainty of today’s market. Their solutions are designed to be easy to adopt, to make sustainable energy simple to use and optimize, and to outperform fossil fuel alternatives, while maximizing revenue. From cutting-edge thermal and alternative chemistry batteries to ground-breaking mobile energy storage and mobility technologies, to the latest grid services and energy storage analytics and monitoring platforms. The selected companies are:
- Elstor has developed a modular thermal energy storage system that stores electricity from the cheapest hours of the day as heat (500°C). The stored energy can then be flexibly discharged as steam and heat for utility, district energy, and industrial applications — improving efficiency, cutting costs, and eliminating reliance on fossil-fuels for steam production.
- Inlyte Energy’s core technology is a 2-in-1 long-duration energy storage battery made from naturally abundant and inexpensive raw materials — primarily, iron and sodium chloride (table salt). Their solution is suitable for commercial, industrial, residential, and utility-scale deployments, and specifically targets daily cycling applications with durations of 4-12 hours and 24+ hour resilience use cases.
- Rondo Energy offers heat batteries that replace industrial, gas-fired boilers with low-cost, 24/7 zero-emission heat (1100-1500°C) and power from low-cost intermittent renewables and off-peak electricity. Each individual heat battery delivers megawatts of heat and can be used across heavy industry to eliminate reliance on fossil fuels and generate hot air or steam while lowering operational costs. Rondo’s technology can be integrated into steam decarbonization strategies for utilities and district energy systems.
- Electric Era’ s end-to-end, in-house support makes installing and operating their battery-backed EV fast charging stations as simple as possible — from incentive navigation to minimize deployment costs, expert assessments and project management to speed time to market, and proprietary software designed to avoid grid delays and demand charges.
- Instagrid provides hand-held, on-demand power systems that are designed to be truly portable and outperform combustion generators economically, ergonomically, and environmentally. The lightweight, compact units deliver 2.1 kWh of energy and 18.0 kW peak power, ideal for powering even the most demanding, heavy-duty tools and equipment needed for large-scale worksite and events, and can be combined to meet your power needs.
- Kevala’s cloud-based platform leverages comprehensive grid data and analytics to accelerate smart investments in electrical grid infrastructure. The platform enables utilities to ensure distributed energy resources become a flexible asset not a grid stressor. It helps developers to identify prime sites, lower interconnection costs, and improve the success rate of interconnection applications.
- Logical Buildings transforms multifamily and commercial properties into grid-responsive assets using real-time data, demand response, and on-site storage. Its VPP platform and mobile apps empower residents and operators to cut costs, lower emissions, and earn revenue by optimizing energy use.
- Tyba helps energy companies maximize the profitability of energy projects with a unified simulation and operations platform. Developers, owners, and operators can use Tyba to inform and automate energy storage operations, while easily maintaining the ability to make strategy adjustments.
- Ranial Systems offers an AI-driven energy management and microgrid control platform designed to optimize energy utilization, streamline operations, and enhance efficiency across renewable plants, microgrids, energy storage, and HVAC systems. By leveraging real-time monitoring, autonomous diagnostics, and intelligent control of energy assets, the platform maximizes resilience, increases energy efficiency, and reduces operational costs.
- Volytica Diagnostics delivers battery analytics for both stationary and mobility applications, helping owners and operators reduce operational costs, simplify large-scale battery management, enhance safety and business performance, and improve long-time asset value across diverse applications.

“This is a critical moment for the clean energy transition. To build a more resilient future and achieve New York State’s ambitious goal of 6 GW of energy storage by 2030, the State needs energy storage solutions that are easy-to-adopt and ready-to-scale. We are excited to welcome our latest cohort of companies with groundbreaking battery and energy storage solutions that make clean power simple to deploy, optimize, and leverage when we need it. Along with reducing reliance on fossil fuels, these solutions provide immediate tangible benefits like improving energy efficiency, enhancing grid resiliency, and cutting costs” said The Clean Fight’s Managing Director Kate Frucher.
The goal of The Clean Fight’s Deployment Accelerator is to facilitate the adoption of high-impact climate solutions in New York State, to drive an accessible energy transition and create economic opportunity for all. We do this by sourcing proven solutions from around the world and providing them with high-touch business development with customer collaborators and developers, connections to the right sources of scaling capital, technical assistance from New York’s leading energy storage experts NY-BEST and NENY, and up to $100,000 per company in grant funding to facilitate demonstration projects in New York State. To date, The Clean Fight has helped more than 50+ companies scale their solutions in New York State, and program alumni have secured $800M+ in follow-on funding, deployed 5,000+ follow-on projects, and created 900 jobs in manufacturing, construction, and technology.
Our outstanding customer collaborators include construction services company Turner, utilities Con Edison and National Grid, original equipment manufacturer (OEM) Baltimore Aircoil Company, Inc. (BAC), clean energy infrastructure developers NineDot Energy and Samba Energy, and New York City’s Brooklyn Navy Yard Development Corporation, Trust for Governors Island and Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC).
